Oh Autumn, a time for reflection and creating new healthy habits. I can’t help but love all of the produce that becomes available this time of year: apples, pumpkins, squash… yum! More fall recipes to come in the next couple of weeks so stay tuned!
For now, here is some web inspiration for your weekend. What are you watching, reading, listening to and creating this weekend? Hit me up on Instagram @karenscolorfulkitchen, on Facebook, or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org and let me know!
Read: From Reusable Bags to ‘Zero Waste,’ Grocery Stores Try to Go Green. Learn how stores in Canada are trying to reduce waste and read the pros and cons of plastic bags. Such a great concept that I hope stores in the US will start adopting soon!
Watch: Ted Talk: Teach Every Child About Food with Jamie Oliver. If you haven’t seen this already, it’s so good. If you’ve seen it, it’s always worth a second watch. It’s that good!
Listen: Fresh Air: The Vegetable Whisperers with Rich Landau and Kate Jacoby, amazing restauranteers behind Philly’s Vedge and V Street. These two chefs can do incredible things with vegetables! (If you are in Philly-- please do yourself a favor and check these places out-- even if you aren’t vegetarian you will really enjoy your meal!)
Make: If you have the chance to check out Minimalist Baker’s new Cookbook, you really should. The Garlic Butternut Squash Mac & Cheese is truly amazing. But if you can’t try the cookbook, try this Caramelized Onion Mac & Cheese from her website.
Have a wonderful, costume-filled weekend!
