Giftable Cookbooks

Giftable Cookbooks

If you are venturing out on a plant-based diet or looking to purchase a gift for someone who is, this post is for you. I’ve made a list of some of my favorite cookbooks for you. There are still a few days left to snag one of these beauties on Amazon and get them delivered before the holidays. Here are a few of my favorites, as well as a couple that I can’t wait to add to my bookshelf.

The Undiet Cookbook by Meghan Telpner

This book is fantastic. It is jam-packed with easy, delicious recipes that are plant-based, dairy-free, and gluten-free. I have made almost every recipe in the book and can say without hesitation that you will love having this on your shelf. It’s my go-to for healthy inspiration and family meals. The I Heart My Kale Salad and Creamed Mushroom Love Soup are personal favorites. The pictures are gorgeous and Meghan has a way with words that will inspire you to jump right into your kitchen and start cooking. Perfect for the plant-based foodie in your life.

The Oh She Glows Cookbook by Angela Liddon

This was one of the first plant-based cookbooks that I bought and it continues to be a favorite. Angela’s recipes don’t require fancy ingredients and they produce crowd-pleasing favorites. My go-to recipes include the Chakra Caesar Salad with Nutty Herb Croutons and Our Favorite Veggie Burgers, which are, hands-down, my favorite veggie burgers. This book is perfect for the person in your life who is embarking on their plant-based journey and needs some easy, classic recipes to get started.

Minimalist Baker’s Everyday Cooking by Dana Shultz

As a longtime fan of Dana’s blog, Minimalist Baker, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on a copy of her cookbook, which was released this fall. Dana’s recipes are created with ease in mind. You’ll find many 30-minute or one-bowl recipes, making weeknight cooking a snap. All of her recipes are vegan, many are gluten-free, and all are absolutely delicious. My personal favorites include Butternut Squash Garlic Mac ‘n’ Cheese and Classic Vegan Lasagna. So good! This is a hardcover book and makes an awesome gift for you or someone you know looking for easy, plant-based, delicious weeknight meals.

These next two are on my wishlist…

Homestyle Vegan: Easy, Everyday Plant-Based Recipes by Amber St. Peter

Amber is the rockstar behind Fettle Vegan, an online treasure trove of veganized comfort food favorites. Her recipes are all vegan and her photography is excellent. I’m looking forward to trying her recipes for Buffalo Cauliflower Pizza with Ranch Sauce and the Old-Fashioned Cinnamon Rolls with Walnuts and Vanilla Bean Glaze. Perfect for your foodie friend who loves comfort food but is trying to healthify his or her eating habits.

Joyous Detox: Your Complete Plan and Cookbook to be Vibrant Every Day by Joy McCarthy

The release date for this book is December 27th, just after the holidays, but perfectly timed for all of your New Year Resolution needs. The book contains detox-friendly meal plans for both plant- and animal-based diets. Joy teaches her readers how to detox by taking a break from certain foods and adding other nutrient-dense foods into their meal plans. I look forward to checking this out as soon as it hits the shelves! Perfect for your post-holiday needs.

I hope this selection of books will inspire healthy eating in your life or for those around you! Wishing you a delicious and beautiful holiday season! I won’t have a regular post next week as I will be home visiting with family for the holidays, but I will be back again in January.

Happy New Year!
